upcycled clothes that feed the soul

I always say that sewing was the best skill that my Mom ever shared with me. After working through numerous mistakes and fixing my failures, she believed in my skills enough to let me go solo on her machine at the age of nine. I have been creating passion projects ever since.
Over the years I have sewn home décor, Halloween costumes, birthday gifts, and costumes for my daughter Grace and her school theater program. Now that I retired after teaching Spanish for 30 years, I am doing the “fun” sewing that I have always wanted to do – upcycled clothing.
I love making something out of nothing. My sisters’ nickname for me is Ms. Make-Do. By upcycling clothing, cutting up pieces, matching up different styles, I am “making do” by giving new life to discarded and unwanted items.
I always tell my kids that the art of creating is about “the process.” I embrace this process of looking at clothing items, thinking about how they can be reworked, and adding design elements that make them unique and desirable. Upcycling is my creative outlet that feeds my soul.
My mission at Sass Upcycled is to reuse, rework, and recycle gently used clothing items in order to provide original, one of a kind fashion pieces for cool women of all sizes.
I offer unique denim jackets, dusters, tops, kimonos, and other art and design inspired upcycled clothing items. Each piece incorporates gently used and vintage elements to create something different. You will be the only one who owns your special passion piece.
Come check out my upcycled creations at The Painted Tree Marketplace in Roswell, Georgia. I will be adding items weekly to keep it fresh and updated. I would love to see a familiar face and celebrate connections!
My booth is located at G14 in the middle of the store. Look for the rock tees with a feminine twist, boho bags, and Dolly! ... All made from up-cycled materials.
